What Is Spirituality?

Have you ever pondered over the following questions:

  • Why am I here?

  • Who am I?

  • I have what I wanted but why am I still not happy?

  • What do I really want?

  • What happens after death?

Spirituality is coming to the understanding that there is more to life than our senses and seeking answers to questions that go beyond the surface level.

The Changing Trend

Spiritual tours have always been popular among the older generation, many millennials and young working professionals now show special attractiveness towards spiritual tourism.

An important reason for the renewed interest in Spiritual Tourism in India is the stressful lifestyle and overwhelming work environments.

Post the pandemic, people in all parts of the world are paying more attention than ever to their mental health. This is why Indians themselves are turning to spiritual journeys and connecting with their roots.

Why India is the best spiritual destination

India has been the birthplace of several of the world’s major religions, including Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The sense of spiritual enthusiasm is palpable. There are mandirs (Hindu temples), mosques, gurudwaras (Sikhs' places of worship), and churches co-existing in harmony.

India since its independence in 1947 has been a secular state because it does not have any state religion and people are free to practice any religion of their choice.

Travel provides a great way to reconnect with your inner self. You discover answers that elsewhere you might not find. When you travel to India you can find yourself, because it challenges you as an individual.

Religion And Spirituality

If you feel confused, you’re not alone. You may know people who consider themselves spiritual, but not religious. Conversely, there can be individuals who are devoutly religious but are not what most would consider deeply spiritual.

Spirituality and religion are NOT THE SAME

A way to make sense of the relationship between spirituality and religion is to imagine a game of football. The rules, referees, other players, and field markings help guide you as you keep playing the game. Similarly, religion might guide you to find your spirituality.

A Movie You Should Not Miss......

The quest that each one needs to undertake is very individual, as there is a lot of objective rumination one sits with based on the individual's experience. This is because Spirituality in people’s minds is synonymous with a search for meaning, purpose, and direction in life.
